Hi Everyone!
Been a couple of days since I've been in Blogland. Sorry about that! I have been keeping up with what's been going on through Google Reader, which I've only recently discovered, if you can believe that!!! Such a cool thing. So it's been me, a cup of coffee and Google reader in the morning. I have been so busy the last few days because I decided to clean out my craft room and sell some things because I finally got my hands on a new SU catalog and I WANT sooooo much stuff!! It was a bit hard to let some of it go; but I am much more excited about getting some new things!! I made these two cards today to share with you. The first is for today's Get Sketchy Challenge. The sketch was easy to work with and I enjoyed it. I used Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal, Dusty Durango, and Bermuda Bay for my color palette. I used my birds and swirls CB folder for the Apricot piece and stamped the tree from "Lovely as a Tree" in Really Rust ink. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I used Memento's rich cocoa ink for that one. Finally I added the three antique copper brads on the side and the card was done. The second card I have is just a random card I decided to put together. One of the things I love about getting a new SU catalog is I'm reminded of the sets I have, that I haven't used for a while because maybe I've not thought of an idea for them lately. The set "Cheers to You" is one of those sets. So, this card is based loosely on a sample that was in the catalog for this set. I decided that I wanted to use some bright summer colors, so I chose Regal Rose, So Saffron, Turquoise, and Melon Mambo. I stamped each one the glasses in black ink using my Stamp-a-ma-jig (such an AWESOME tool!!) onto watercolor paper and then I used my aquapainters with pencils, ink pads and watercolor crayons to fill it them in. Next I added the ribbon at the bottom with a little bit of yellow string and the sentiment. It was cute and easy to make!
Ok, so that's all for me. I will see you all on Monday, have a fantastic weekend!!
